Sessions & Tasks

The Sessions and Tasks dashboard provides centralized oversight of all concurrent conversations, sub-tasks, and background generation runs across your workspaces.

Centralized Task Oversight

When orchestrating complex development flows across multiple repositories, running long-running refactors, or conducting batch test runs, multiple tasks can run concurrently. The Sessions dashboard aggregates these operations into a unified monitoring table:

  • Active Generation States: Quickly identify whether a session is generating code, analyzing a codebase, waiting for tool input, or paused for user approval.
  • Step Counters & Durations: Monitor the execution trajectory of each task, including elapsed run time and total tool iterations.
  • Token Consumption Audits: View cumulative input and output token consumption per session to evaluate model costs and context usage.

Inspecting and Controlling Runs

1. Live Task Inspection

Clicking on any active session in the monitoring list opens its real-time telemetry stream. You can observe:

  • The exact prompt instruction that initiated the task.
  • Live tool invocations (such as file reads, ripgrep searches, or compiler invocations).
  • Staged diff proposals waiting for review.

2. Terminating Runaway Tasks

If an agent enters an unproductive loop, misunderstands an edge case, or continues longer than desired:

  • Stop Session: Halts the target agent run gracefully. Any file changes already approved and committed to disk remain intact, while pending unapproved tool calls are discarded.
  • Stop All Sessions: Instantly stops every running task across all workspaces. Useful during network dropouts or when resetting execution state.
